Is that one of the Dubliners on the right hand side of the photo of Kris?

LOL! No, thats my very good friend Charlie who was filming for a dvd on the night. He's been my dear friend for 23 years. The man is a Legend! This is a guy who has toured Europe as a drummer with the Eurovision band 'CoCo' in 1978. The stories he has told me... lol

In fact, for all that met Charlie that night, here is a clip of the band he was in 'CoCo' on TOTP. A Clean shaven Charlie on the drums...

NB: Charlie's idea on the night of Eurovision was halfway through the song to get up, kick over the drum kit, give 2 fingers up to the camera while saying 'Fu*k off' and storming off. He said it would have gone down in history! He regrets he never did it. The lead singer Terry Bradford was sh*tting it all night thinking Charlie may have done what he said...

Hi Folks,
Finally joined the Forum to say how much I enjoyed the night at the Longhirst Hall, fantastic venue for a great night of celebration of Shaky's music. When Sean first told me there was a fans party up North,I said in for a penny in for a pound,it will be a different Friday night to what I'm used to so yeah we'll go & Emma & Sean can stay with us but there was always the trepidation of what I was letting myself in for....but after arriving & getting over the 1st initial nervous 10 minutes & thanked by Maggie just chatting at bar & asking if I was on the forum,I could sense the friendliness. There was fantastic sets by Cadillac 59,Red Alert & of course Ricky, and my limited knowledge of Shaky's music (3 x 7"" singles in early 80's) was soon extended & I came away having had one of the best Friday nights in a while as well as meeting some lovely people (in no particular order) Mark,Kris,Trudi & husband,Sally,Paul,Ricky,Jackie & Maggie & Terry (apologies if missed some people out but I'm sure you can tell me off when meeting up at Indigo) 4 weeks today BRING IT ON!!!
After Kris had surprised me with his vocal chords in the Shaky karaoke we retired to the pub for a nightcap & a game of Pool.....but Kris & Mark you may have won the battle in the Pool.....but Sean & I are going to win the War.....look forward to revenge.......

Thanks again to you all for making it such a great night & looking forward to meeting up again very soon, from a newly converted Shaky fan,

Steve :)

3:30 in to see some awesome guitar playing from Ossie!

It's a shame about the sound through the camera/you tube, but nice to see it!

I forgot to say click on the "Watch in High Quality" link under the video on the You Tube page for better sound and picture quality.
