2008 Shaky fans celebration after party news (Plus Photos!)

Postby I'm Lookin' on Sat Nov 08, 2008 1:36 pm

Hi guys

WHAT a night. From start to finish it was a night to remember. Firstly ,this was my first get together and meeting so many who had travelled the length and breadth of the country. It was like we'd known eachother for years. So as Co- host for the party, thankyou for your efforts in making the night special by you being there.

It was a true celebration of Shakys music, with the mix of songs all played live all night , going back to the sunsets days ,right through to his current brilliant album Now listen.

My band Cadillac 59 started the live music off, my guys loved it and said the atmosphere was superb. I'll not comment on how we played as I couldn't hear!

Red alert followed with the one and only Ricky Aron and put on a great show. Songs played and sung to perfection, a true tribute to Shaky. Even the few non Shaky die hards in the audience thought it was entertaining. Again the range of songs was varied, with HAY MAE my favourite.

In between ,Paul did a great job with the cds and dvds that played throughout. It all went to plan apart from an hour before the start when Ricky and I had a panic over the PA but it got sorted.

Big thanks to Shaky too for the cds and posters he signed for the raffle, and to Jackie for doing the tickets on the night!

There will be more detailed reviews I'm sure but wanted to get it rolling now.

I've got say thanks to Mark too, if it weren't for him we wouldn't be able to keep in touch like this and organise nights like last night. Thanks Mark!

Anyway , loads of video coming real soon!!

Thanks again.

What a brilliant night! It takes such a lot of hard work to organise these fans evenings, but boy! are they worth it!

The Longhurst Golf Course was a Beautiful Venue in a lovely part of Newcastle. It was a long drive from London but well worth the trek.

It's true we had an early panic with some technical faults (poor ricky is such a stresser! lol) but we got there in the end.

Graham's excellent band 'Cadillac 59' started us off with a great set of very early Sunsets stuff with some traditional Rock n Roll numbers too. I have to say that Graham is a great singer and got us warmed up with ease. The band was rockin and they have the most awesome Bass player i've ever seen!

We then had the break and we did the raffle. I'll leave Jackie to give you the run down on that when she gets around to posting. She has all the details for you guys.

Then next up was Red Alert with Ricky Aron. Let me tell you something...these boys ROCK! We enjoyed a huge and very energetic set which had everyone up dancing by the end of the night! Ozzie on the lead guitar is the most closest i've ever heard to Micky Gee! Ricky was superb as always.

We all was so impressed that we aim to have both Bands for the Fans night 2009 which'll be back in London next year. It seems best to alternate between north & south every year, varying the regions to give everyone a chance to attend who have trouble travelling.

The night ended with a spur of the moment Shaky Karaoke which was so much fun!

There will be photos and forthcoming YouTube videos soon for all to see!

What a brilliant night!

A Big thank you to Graham for hosting and performing, and to Ricky and Red Alert for your class act, to Mark for the website which makes all this possible, to Jackie for doing so brilliantly with the raffle, to Charlie for Camera filming, to all the staff at Longhurst, to Kris for the extra entertainment lol, and of course to Shaky himself for the signings and for being an awesome rock n' roller worth celebrating 8) and the biggest thanks to EVERYONE who bought a ticket and travelled to support us. it was great to see so many new faces and old! great to see Sean, Trudi,Terry, Billy, Graham...the list is endless!

I hope you all had a amazing evening and will join us again next year!

Had a great time Fri, It was a good night though different to the usual parties but still great ! The live bands were brilliant, loved them all, Red Alert, Cadillac 59 & of course Ricky Aron (thanx for the private dance lol - I didn't know what to do as hubby was right next to me :o ) lol

Great to see all the fans again, Sal,Terry,Mark,Jackie, Sean & Steve, Paul,Kris,Mags, Ricky, Graham & Kev, Hope I haven't left anyone out? We are all like one big happy family :D It was strange Sal leaving at end of night though & going our seperate ways as I usually stay at her place but I didn't have to travel far this time which made a change

Roll on the next party !!!!
Bad Reputation, I'm here to stay ;-)

WOW! What a fantastic night... yeah it was different to previous parties, as it was mainly live music and they were all AWSOME 'Cadillac 59' 'Red Alert' and of course Ricky Aron. I can't believe the talent amongst our fellow Shaky fans, you're all amazing! 8)

It was great to see everyone, Mark, Graham, Ricky, Terry, Jackie, Mags, Sean and his (hopefully now converted) mate Steve, Kris and anyone I've missed - yeah Ricky, Kris is very entertaining in the car! I drove all the way back from Newcastle but the journey didn't seem long at all, we had ball (well, I did anyway). All I can say (in the words of Abba) is "Thank you for the music..."

Of course, it was especially good to see my partner in crime, Trudi, I did miss you on the way back to the hotel - it just didn't feel right leaving the party without you

Graham, thank you so much for all your hard work, you done a fantasic job and thank you for my veggie brekkie  (I was expecting rice crispies lol)

I'm working on Paul to start organizing the next one NOW, I don't wanna wait another year. I don't care how far I have to travel, it's worth every mile :D

Roll on the next one!!!

What a great time my wife and I had at the party. It was great to finally meet you all and i think its fair to say we all had a ball. Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome and I will be hoping to see many of you again at the 02.
Graham and the band were amazing as were Red Alert and Ricky. They even got me up dancing which is something i rarely do.Apologies to Paul for forgetting the words to I Might during the karaoke as the alcohol had started to frazzle my brain, though we made up for it by singing a blistering My Cutie Cutie. There are far too many people to mention that i met on Friday to say thanks too but special thanks to Mark for listening to me for a couple of hours,to Graham for the great venue and entertainment,to Ricky and Red Alert and everyone else for a great night.Looking forward to next year!!
