Got my email - thanks a trillion Brendan! Am very interested in bit the where it says ...

The gig [8th Dec] marks the start of a live
revival for Stevens, his manager Sue
Davies reveals. She says that “dozens
of festivals in the UK and Europe”
have already been booked for his
anniversary year tour plans next
year. Meanwhile, Martin stresses
that the Sony campaign
will be extended to reach
fans in other territories. “He’s
still out there and very much
doing it,” insists Martin.

Yes, dozens of festivals ! Does that mean there is a very, very, very slight chance we may finally see Shaky on a stage in Holland for the first time in 28 years ?????????????? I know miracles still happen every now and then, that's why I keep hoping and dreaming.

Best bet is the Music Week website. The cover price is £4.85 so the website actually works out cheaper for anyone in the Uk as they have it at £4.50. For Europe its £5.00 and Rest of The World its £5.70. As its a Back Issues shop they don't actually have the current issue (31.10.2009) listed yet but it should be up on Sunday or Monday.

Yep I've had the same response in W H Smiths today - I was told they used to stock it but not anymore as no call for it.

I thought it was a really good read, my main niggle was the part about shaky week on radio 2 being down to a chance meeting on a golf course, of course there is every chance that might be a part of it, but I have a text in my sent items box of an old phone, the very text chris evans read out during howard jones week asking that as shaky turned 60 the following week could he be the favoured artist that week that would suggest other factors at work!! :-P

Seriously though its a great article and we should all be proud of it, although if the market for the magazine is as small as suggested how many people would have got to see it, someone like Q would have been a better but no doubt more costly option. Although as its largely an industry magazine its more who reads it not how many read it, so hopefully profiles will be raised as a result of it :-D

Yep me as well. The only place i nearly had luck was my corner shop who stock papers & magazines. There was a chance they could get me it if i wanted it every week, but i hadn't even heard of it till now.

Think i will end up trying Brendans link in a few days time, once the publication becomes a back dated copy!.

Strangely the first place I ever saw it was a small local newsagents round the corner from the house I stayed in when I first lived in Belfast. They had 1 copy which was only there because they had ordered it in for somebody else who had recently left the area.. I continued to buy it until I moved away and then got another newsagent to get it in for me. I gave up as it had got too expensive and most of the info I wanted from it could be found on the internet anyway.

Last time I checked WH Smith in Belfast still got a couple of copies in but that was a few months ago and either they'll have stopped, or Nick will have bought them up already! :)
