Next year 2010 will be the 30th Anniversary of Shaky's 1st UK Hit.

The release of The Epic Masters Box Set is timed perfectly to mark thirty years of Shaky so far!

The official website has been updated and has a great promo reel that is activated automatically when on the home page.

The Box Set now has it's own page on the official website and can be ordered through it now too.

There is an update on the recent gigs and also details of the December 8th concert in London. It also says that the 02 Academy Dec 8th gig will be a very special one as Shaky will be performing tracks from the Box Set! A real one off gig! not to mention a dream concert for us fans! Don't miss it!

To mark the [30th Anniversary] occasion, we have taken space in next weeks Music Week, to send Shaky Congratulations from S.O.N.G. and all the members. There will be a 10 page supplement in Music Week, and other press will also cover the event.

Thanks to you all for being with us through the years, and your continued support to our truly unique Artist!!!

I hope you like the tribute to Shaky, 'cos it's from all of you, and me at S.O.N.G.

I just want to add my congratulations to Shaky for this anniversary too. I've been a fan for nearly 30 years now too like most of us and I can't believe it's gone this fast! Has it really been that long? I remember us all looking so much younger at the early gigs... Anyway here we all are, 30 years later, and still at it.

I love all my music, and following Shaky for what will be nearly all my life has been (and will continue to be) a real pleasure. I can't imagine my world without Shaky's music.

I said to Ken Bruce on Radio 2 when I was talking about Shaky, and how long i've been a fan etc, that the reason i'm a fan is "Great music never goes away". It's a simple as that. This 30 year milestone has proved me right.

Here's to the next 30 years! We'll have a celebration drink in London guys on the 8th December! See you all there!

Having checked out the official website I notice that the link to buy the box set is for HMV where it is costing £48! Why not link to play.com or one of the other sites where it is a lot cheaper.....

I guess it's always a case of finding it cheaper. The cheapest i've seen it is £31.99 on Ebay from a dealer, but you never know when it'll actually arrive.

I've gone for PLAY which ain't the cheapest, but i've always found them reliable. There are plenty of suggestons on the Box Set thread of where to buy so folk can make their own minds up.

Lets not let this thread turn into Box Set price comparison...let's keep all that to the Box Set thread

WOW 30 years - what a great and lovely thing to do. I can't believe I have been a fan for nearly 30 years - time flies!! Well done Shaky. I was only having a conversation with my 12 year old son over breakfast this morning about how he outsold Michael Jackson in the UK in the 80s, in fact, he outsold everyone to become the biggest selling UK artist of the 80s and look at him, still going strong in the OOs!! Fab!!! I so cannot wait til the 8th December, what a show it's going to be!!!

havent got a clue ive searched everywhere for it today with no luck

I've looked in 3 newsagents today too but couldn't find a copy. The website mentions this weeks issue paying tribute to Shakin' Stevens with a date of 31st October so perhaps that is the street date?

It's sent out to subscribers to arrive on Tuesday morning and should be in the shops on Wednesday. As its an industry publication you'll probably only find it in the likes of WH Smiths or larger branches of HMV. Or if you can't wait send me a PM with your email address and watch your inbox.... :)

Its actually 8 pages but there's a cracking article which includes interviews with Shaky and Sue.

It also suggests that the box set has been put back to 7th December and there will advertisingin Record Collector, Uncut, The Word & Mojo....
