Hi,

Must say that my friend found two words to describe Shakin'Stevens concert.Immediately when the lights went up he said: " ZAJE....SCIE DOBRY!!!!" :)

I know that I shouldn't write it as this is a vulgarism but this is only a quotation ...moreover everyone who knows Polish language knows that in a guy's mouth this is a huge compliment.

to Maggie:

The same day in Cracow took place The Original Elvis Tribute Show with Elvis Bass Player Duke Bardwell and Michael Jarrett who wrote " I'll be home for Christmas"

As you can imagine every hard fan went that day to Cracow. On the Polish EPMB I read that it was a nice evening.

Shakin' Stevens w Polsce
2009-05-16, Sala Kongresowa - Warszawa Ocena ogólna:
4.86/5
Oddanych głosów: 14 Oceń:
SZALALALA ZABAWA TRWA! - (2009-05-18) - Czytane: 193

Zaczęli dynamicznym rockandrollem, poprawili elektrycznym bluesiorem, trochę podobnym do „Steamy Windows” Tiny Turner.

I bez zaskakujących wyznań.

„Oh Julie!”. A mi przez myśl przemknął tytuł piosenki młodszych kolegów Stevensa, Kaiser Chiefs, „Oh My God!”.

A następnie, trzymając się bokserskiej terminologii, znokautowali towarzystwo megahitem „A Letter To You”.

Były wśród nich jak najbardziej współcześnie brzmiące, osadzone w rocku, boogie i post country, tytułowy „Now Listen!”, „It’s A Shame”, „Baby It’s You”, czy „Trouble”. Z wyczuciem przetykane standardami, jak „Marie Marie”, „This Ole House” z pierwszej solowej płyty Shaky’ego, czy zagrane na bis „Cry Just A Little Bit”.

SZALALALA TRWA FUN! - (2009-05-18) - Reading: 193
Shaky (Michael Barratt, 61 years) from the years he has lived in the English Surrey, where he moved the family from Wales. Weather in Warsaw has adapted to the local climate. Fortunately, the temperature, 10 - 12 degrees, and rain were przeszklonymi doors for the Congress Hall. Which boil.

SEE PHOTOS from the concert

Moreover, the Palace of Culture on the whole was very loud, because "the people of the city and coming" observed the second day of the "Night of Museums". Immediately points out that the performance Shakin 'Stevens was not strictly part of this event!

I could conclude that the relationship in one sentence - "This is roztańczyłem that does not remember anything of what was happening on stage."

But the truth is that I went to the Congress Hall in another character, so - very - not danced, and more specifically, that only a guy who has not danced, and sat there and something noted, it was just me;)

They began rockandrollem dynamic, improved electrical bluesiorem, a little similar to "Steamy Windows" Tina Turner. What happened does not necessarily surprising, because the guitar in the game today were Shaky'ego guitarist Tiny precisely, John Bishop.

After the third song, Shakin 'Stevens finally spoke without accompaniment. And no surprise faiths. Maybe out of that terrible reputation that play live in Warsaw. Could be different elsewhere?

At the end of greeting Shaky announced that a concert to honor the old and new compositions, some of which is a fairly well-known songs, for example, that which now play. "Oh Julie". And I thought the song title przemknął younger colleagues Stevens, Kaiser Chiefs, 'Oh My God! ". Because suddenly the whole Congress has already done tan.

It should be stressed, as conducive to good playing conditions prevailed on the stage and around it. Four hanging ramps to very efficiently operated lamps complement four vertical mattress with modern LEDs and additional lighting. To support a great rainbow of music to play potęgowało impression at a gigantic prywatce.

It seems that even if the concert potrwał half an hour longer, or not musicians ostudziliby atmosphere dwudziestominutową break (a rare procedure, but gave an interesting effect, as if the second start of the concert, with a double dose of emotions and an additional portion of decibels), to start dismantling the seats in Congress . Bo shalal crowd.

Seem to break on a papierosku Mrs. narzekała that little "those well-known songs," but later wywijała hołubce and songs from latest album "British Elvis", "Listen Now", which of course you could buy in the foyer (at an affordable price , 40 pln., as opposed to slightly overestimated after 75 t-shirts, -).

After the "Oh Julie", Shaky team, followed by a blow to a good quarter and not let the audience sit. First, a bit forgotten by the "Give Me Your Heart Tonight", which equally affected, and what moved - literally - all pląsających. Then, holding the boxing terminology, znokautowali company megahitem "A Letter To You".

If you remember this song, to know how important the 'Letter to You "are so called. dęciaki, that is the trumpet and saxophone. Unlike the other concerts, where the Shakin 'Stevens appeared without his team, for example, surrounded by other stars of the eighties, this time dziesięcioosobowy took care of that, that old song zabrzmiały even better than it zapamiętaliśmy.

During the second part of the concert we heard, among others new compositions, which - as it turned out - just as well suited to remind the dance steps of the wedding, and unforgettable przeboje years ago, which is every couple decided wysupłać least 230 PLN (115 cheapest option - zł.za a ticket, at 195, - exclusive version).

Among them were the most contemporary sounding, embedded in rock, boogie and country post, the title "Listen Now!", "It's A Shame," "Baby It's You" and "Trouble." With sensitivity przetykane standards, like "Marie Marie", "This Ole House" with Shaky'ego first solo CD, or played for the bis "Cry Just A Little Bit." For this unique opportunity to see robiącego Stevens - several times! - Twine in half and we wyskoku recipe for an unforgettable Saturday night!

Two hours of crazy fun with the music from the sixties, przearanżowaną in the eighties and masterfully played almost thirty years later, no one left niezadowolonym, with arrivals in the Congress Hall. The more so overjoyed that, after the concert today willingly scattered in search of something less obleganych museums, which lasted the best night ...

Nope.

When my friend bought for us tickets he was told that there were very few available,.That's why our seats weren't the best. But a couple of weeks before concerts the tickets suddenly appeared. There were the different tickets also.We had with the name SS only but others wwere the picture tickets.
The guardian asked by me answered that a few agencies had been involved in distribution and everything had depended on them.

Probably next question should be...how many people were at Congress Hall.
Capacity of Congress Hall is about 3000 seats and was crowd.
I have found a few pictures in the Internet .
The venue is called Palac Kultury/a souvenir from Stalin in 1952,the only such a building in Poland/.42 floors and more than 3200 rooms. One of them is Sala Kongresowa/red letters on the picture on the left/.The next pics show Congress hall inside. The next shows us before the concert.

I watched Shakin'Stevens interview on Polsat TV / he did it after the concert/.

It was a very nice interview......,although I 'dlike to quote one of his answer.

question : " Are you satisfied about your career?"
answer : " No,not exactly"

I expected to hear something like " I am absolutely satisfied...simply I want more..."

And let me explain why I strongly believe that he has been a winner already...

A few days ago ,through the Internet,I met a lovely, beautiful young girl.

Anna attended SS concert in Warsaw and she wrote to me " I have been waiting for it for 25 years!!!.My dreams came true!!!.I am disabled person and can't go to Denmark or the UK to see him so...I am waiting for the next Polsh concert."

I have a deal with her...we will meet at "reality" at his concert.....in Poland of course :) .Fingers crossed
