Hi everyone.

Firstly I'd like to say thanks to this very message board and it's eagle eyed posters. I had the box set ordered at play and was able to cancel and order from Tesco saving myself £10 and earning club card points too

The box set duly arrived on Saturday and it is indeed a wonderful item to behold. Over the past 20 years of buying CDs we've all longed for Shaky's original albums to come out and it seemed like fantasy to expect anything like additional tracks and the obvious effort with the packaging. The bare bones release of This Ole House on CD in 1993 was an unexpected delight but the intervening 16 years had left me thinking that Shaky had serviously annoyed someone at Sony as every act under the sun had their back catalogue issued 2 or 3 times whilst one of the must successful UK chart acts of all time was reduced to budget hit compilations.

So secondly thanks to Shaky for actually taking control of things and giving us what we've asked for and of course for making the fantastic music that we all, by which I mean us and Shaky himself, love and which has been treated with the respect it deserves.

So there are some differences are there? Well there's a part of me that thinks.......... no, it doesn't matter, what matters is that on Christmas Day I'll finally get to listen to You Never Talked About Me, Thinkin' Of You, Don't Lie To Me, Is A Bluebird Blue?, Make It Right Tonight etc etc in wonderful digitally remastered sound and that's what's most important.

Oh didn't I say, yeah I've got it, I've sneaked a read of the booklet but I'm not listening to it until Christmas Day, surely there's no better time!

Got mine today i thought i would listen to the 12" cd first and my god ' Cry Just A Little bit ' it sounds great, i would even go on to say and i know i shouldn't but those so called new bands (FLO RIDA) out there who mix other musicians songs into the theirs could easy use this one!!!!! I expect i said the wrong thing but my kids love Flo Rida and those new song mixes and i think it is great listening to the old songs again and with a bit of a up beat tempo.

This is like going back years today. The box set arrived and the quality of the box, the sleeves and the inners stood out first. Played lipstick and the sound is awsome!! Got to say too, Gavin Povey is fantastic. A real winner this one. I hope it is on sale in the shops too as its great quality.
